The video score is based on the narrative of the unhurried addition of successive sound markers within the landscape. Two juxtaposed frames show areas of exposed rock on Petřín Hill, which become the space of the video sound notation.

Video Score

The video score consists of two static film shots juxtaposed with one another, presented in the upper half of the frame, in which a moving figure places markers within the natural landscape. These markers take the form of small white circles placed on vertical rock faces and left there for most of the film’s duration. The placement of markers within the frames is not merely a visual intervention in the environment. It is, above all, a deliberate act of recording information that indicates the pitch of specific sound tones.

The video was filmed at the Kinský Garden, an English-style garden in Prague. The video was shot in 8K. “The English-style garden was created in opposition to French gardens. It departs from artificial symmetry and geometric shapes, emphasizing the naturalness of the landscape and imitating wild nature as an ideal space for romantic walks for two or solitary contemplation.” The video score is based on the narrative of the unhurried addition of successive sound markers within the landscape, performed in the film by Ewa Doroszenko, who was invited to appear in the film. Two juxtaposed frames show areas of exposed rock on Petřín Hill, which become the space of the video score; in this variation, the sound cluster in the two shots consists of two triads.
